It has been
proposed that a capital fund be created to provide the government
with a permanent income which would allow for:
-
The
conservation of Yasuní National Park.
-
Social expenditure to promote food
sovereignty, as a pillar of the model for the sovereign and
independent development of the country.
-
In
addition, the Ecuadorian government pledges to use these funds to
establish a real presence in the region, in other words, to ensure
the provision of basic services for the indigenous peoples living in
this area (particularly the Huaorani and Kichwa peoples) and thereby
break the dependence on oil companies that has developed.
